How do I remove applications from my Android smart phone?

When you no longer use an application, you may want to uninstall it. Removing unnecessary applications will also be useful in freeing up the internal memory of the smart phone.

Note: The names of icons may vary between different versions of the Android operating system. There are two ways to uninstall applications:
  • Via Manage Applications:
    1. Open the Applications tray and tap the Settings icon.
    2. Tap Applications, and then Manage Applications.
    3. Select the application you wish to uninstall and tap Uninstall.
    4. Tap OK to confirm.

  • Via Play Store, for applications obtained from Google Play:
    1. Open the Applications tray and tap Play Store.
    2. In Play Store, tap the Downloads button in the top right corner.
    3. Select the application you wish to uninstall and tap Uninstall.
    4. Tap OK to confirm.

Note: You may be unable to remove pre-installed applications.
