Pac-12 filled with surprises at season midpoint

PHOENIX (AP) ? Second-ranked Oregon is rolling, which is nothing new.

The rest of the Pac-12 has been filled with surprises.

At the midpoint of the conference season, Arizona State is leading the South Division in its first season under coach Todd Graham and Oregon State is tied with the Ducks atop the North after being picked to finish last.

Southern California's national title hopes also took a dent with a loss to Stanford in its conference opener and Utah hasn't come close to challenging for the South title, as some predicted.

There have been some breakout performances, too, most notably by Arizona State quarterback Taylor Kelly and Oregon quarterback Mike Mariota.

The way things have been going, the second half could be just as unpredictable.
